Building Bright Futures
Hello! My name is Anijeh Green and I’m teaching 7th grade ELA alongside Melissa Gaspard! I’m a graduate of Montclair State University in New Jersey -- born and raised in Newark -- where I received my bachelors degree in English. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in Teaching.
Outside of work and school, I am a hobby photographer and enjoy anything that has to do with nature, travel, culture.
I’m looking forward to an exciting year of teaching and getting to know students, family, faculty and the community!

Building Bright Futures
Hello! My name is Melissa Gaspard and I am one half of the amazing duo teaching 7th Grade English Language Arts and one piece of the dynamic and amazing team of professionals at South Bronx Early College Academy Charter School! I am extremely excited to be a part of your positive and memorable experiences throughout your child’s academic career.
My educational degrees include a Masters Degree in Special Education as well as Early Childhood and Childhood Education. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Special Education. I have also begun my advance certification in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Mercy College.
I have taught throughout New York State, specifically, Long Island and Westchester County and our very own South Bronx. There is something to be said about the captivating vibrant culture, rich pride, and uniqueness scholars in the South Bronx exude that is unparalled anywhere else.
I believe in the power of academics, arts, and athleticism as a gateway to building positive bonds between children and providing opportunities to broaden perspectives. I previously have coached Track and Field as well as Lacrosse camps and have successfully trained my previous former track team to become 1st Place within the Charter School League for the 2017-2018 athletic years.
When I’m not in the classroom, you may find me either in front of an easel painting, cooking up authentic Caribbean recipes or baking sweet desserts while dancing to the billowing sounds of Kompa, Salsa, Bachata… and the list goes on and on.
Thank you in advance for your support as we aspire for our scholars to reach beyond the stars.
